New Business

a.) Vic Bedoian discussed the problems with getting subscription

information from KPFA in a timely manner and in a usable format.

He had met with KPFA's new subscription manager Dan Albers and

discussed the idea of KPFA doing the billing for Fresno. 50% of

KFCF's income already is handled through KPFA with credit cards.

KPFA proposed a handling fee. Vic would meet with KPFA and report

at next meeting.

b.) Future of Foundation. Moved to the future- next meeting.

c.) Speaker series. Tom Quinn at Spectrum was a good show. Next two

speakers are Ernest Callenbach and Fran Peavey (April 16). Other

Board members need to offer suggestions.

Other Business

a.) Grant Application - Fresno Arts Council funding cycle is approaching with a April 3 deadline. It was suggested that Dixie Salazar's Tower Mural project, honoring Chuck Moulton and the arts be proposed.

b.) KFCF transmitter is sick. The 1965 Bauer transmitter has had a meltdown, and parts are getting hard to find. Rand Stover and Rych

Withers have installed a lower power amplifier (70 watts versus our normal 1000 watts) in the meantime. The idea of getting a new transmitter for less than $11,000 and moving the current transmitter to back-up duty was moved by Don Fisher and seconded by Catherine Campbell. Unanimous.

c.) The idea of honoring long time members of the Foundation, such as the Victors and Zumwalts at the next annual banquet was discussed and generally agreed upon.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:23 PM and the next meeting will be April 14 at 7:15 PM at the Foundation's Office.
