7:38 PM Meeting called to order.

No minutes available from last meeting due to short time and crisis. DN had spoken with Lynn Chadwick, Executive Director of Pacifica and described her as stressed and like "someone with 15 bricks up their ass". She assured DN that KPFA was not for sale and listened to Doug about our concerns with Pacifica. DN reported that he would be a guest on "The Nobody Show" a program about the Pacifica crisis airing nationally on 7/21/99 from 4 to 6 PM. DN expected to appear from 5:00-5:30 PM.

CC reported that people at KPFK were scared to talk about the KPFA crisis, DN discussed the lawsuit filed by Pacifica LAB members against Pacifica. VB discussed reports of a possible sale of KPFA, the Berkeley Mayor's siding with Pacifica.

VB reported he had talked with Dan Siegel, the lawyer involved in the lawsuit. A discussion of the satellite uplink followed.

RW/RL discussed the use of an internet feed from Fresno to Berkeley and back and the possible idea of Dennis Bernstein airing a version of Flashpoints for Fresno and the internet.

A report from the Tech committee identified alternative sources of programming such as KLON and the internet.

A report from the Programming Committee discussed sources for local programming. The board made plans for Community Forums in Visalia and Oakhurst after the one in Fresno on 7/21/99.
